Bannmeile — Privacy Policy

A single-player, fully offline board game about the Walz.

Bannmeile is built to be played entirely on your own device. This policy explains, plainly, what that means for your data.

The short version

Bannmeile collects no personal data, does not track you, and does not connect to the internet to do anything. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party software development kit anywhere in the app. Every screen you see — the map, your Werkstatt puzzles, your Wanderbuch — is generated and stored on your own iPhone or iPad.

What stays on your device

The app saves the following information locally, in its own app storage, so your Walz is remembered the next time you open it:

Game progressYour journeyman's route, jobs completed, Wanderbuch stamps, skills, tools and Taler, saved as ordinary files inside the app.
SettingsYour choices for music, sound effects, haptics, appearance and reminders.
Photos you addA portrait or keepsake photo you choose to attach to a Wanderbuch page, stored only inside the app's own storage.

None of this ever leaves your device. It is not uploaded anywhere, not shared with us, and not shared with any other company, because the app has no server to send it to.

Camera and photo library

Bannmeile asks for camera access only if you choose to take a new portrait or keepsake photo for your Wanderbuch, and it asks to use the system photo picker only if you choose to select an existing photo instead. Both are optional, requested at the moment you use that feature, and the photo you pick is handed to the app directly by iOS — the app never sees or browses the rest of your photo library.

Notifications

If you turn reminders on in Settings, Bannmeile schedules a small number of local notifications directly on your device (for example, a note that your Geselle has rested, or that the daily Meisterstück is ready). These are generated and delivered entirely on-device using Apple's notification system; nothing about them is sent to us or anyone else.

Children's privacy

Bannmeile does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information from anyone at all. The app contains no chat, no social features and no way to share personal information with other people through the app itself.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever needs to change — for instance, if a future update adds a feature that works differently — the date at the top of this page will be updated and the new terms will apply from that point on.
